YouTube, the most visited video streaming site in the world, has decided to take its generosity in showing ads to its users to the next level. The famous video platform, which has been waging war on ad blocking applications for a while, has now introduced a different method of showing ads. Here are the details…
YouTube will now show ads even when the video is paused!
As you know, YouTube has been following a very aggressive policy on showing ads for a while now. The platform, which shows the same type of ads at the beginning of videos, which can be skipped, non-skipped, and again in the middle of videos, has now started showing ads to users who pause videos.
Users who shared various images on various social media platforms, including both Reddit and X, reported that when videos were paused, they were greedy to an ad that almost completely took up the right side of the screen. Some angry users claim that YouTube has now taken this policy to the level of greed.
The common point in the shared images is that the new advertising policy is limited to the TV application for now… However, let’s also point out that this is not a pilot application. In fact, many of the users who encounter the new advertising application live in different countries.
In this sense, the only question mark in mind is whether this new advertising policy will be limited to the television application. There has been no official statement from Google and YouTube yet. However, it seems that very soon, when you pause a video on both mobile and web browsers, we will see new ads that are like a ball of light.
